The scintillating opportunity to be crowned ‘Best Dressed Lady’ returns to its usual date in the Redcar Races calendar on Saturday.
Ladies’ Day could not take place in 2020 due to the pandemic and had to be rescheduled to a special ‘Ladies Night’ in August last year when Lisa McArdle ran straight from a night shift in a bread factory in Wakefield to clinch the title.
However, one of Redcar’s most popular days of the season is back in its normal June slot for 2022, with a host of fabulous prizes up for grabs alongside a competitive race day.
Redcar Chief Executive Amy Fair said: “After the disruptions of the past two years, it’s nice to be back to normal for Ladies’ Day, which is always one of the highlights of our season.
“We know how much our ladies love to dress up, so we’re expecting a fashion party and although it’s Ladies’ Day, we’re also looking forward to lots of dapper men joining the party.”
Redcar-based Betty Leigh Boutique will showcase a selection of outfits in the winners’ enclosure after race two.
Later, the Best Dressed Lady will receive a prize package including: Gucci Trademark earrings, necklace and bracelet, from Market Cross Jewelers; plus a £100 gift voucher for Skin King Cosmetics; personal shopping experience with a £50 gift voucher for the Betty Leigh boutique; and bouquet of flowers.
The winner will also represent Redcar at the Go Racing Grand Final in Yorkshire.
The finalist will win a Swarovski Tennis Deluxe necklace and earring set, as well as a bracelet, from Market Cross Jewelers; as well as an Orange Kerr Hair and Beauty gift voucher.
The third place lady will receive a Tree of Life necklace and earrings, from Market Cross Jewelers; and a goodie bag of Orange Kerr and Beauty products.
The fashion issue does not stop there since the competition for the best dressed woman will be followed by the competition for the best hat, with even more precious prizes.
The winner will receive a bespoke hat from Lynne Young Millinery; and a Swarovski Generation pendant and bracelet from Market Cross Jewelers.
The runner-up receives a £150 gift voucher from Market Cross Jewellers, along with a £100 voucher for third place.
The first race is at 1:37 p.m., with the last race at 5:13 p.m.
